4 Things You Need in Your Kitchen Right Now
Air Fryer
I swear you will never feel the need to go out and buy fast food again if you own an air fryer. This gadget is by far the most used appliance in our kitchen. If you don’t know what an air fryer does or how it works well now it’s time to learn. Picture a traditional frying method. You would have to fully submerge your food in hot oil to get that delicious crispy outside we all know and love. Well in an air fryer it’s the same idea, only instead of oil, you’re submerging your food in hot air that is being evenly circulated inside. So, what does this mean for you? Well, a few things…
- Using little to no oil means that your food is better for you
- The air circulation allows you to cook pretty much anything for half the time it would take you on the stove or in the oven
- Have a lot of frozen food? Well preheat your air fryer to the same temp it says to on the box and cook it for half the time and bam! It’s done.
Sharp Knives
When it comes to knives you absolutely get what you pay for. But what is important no matter what kind of knife you have is how sharp it is. First, sharp knives are much safer to use than dull. They get right to the point when you’re cutting and make it less likely for you to slip and cut yourself. When your knife is sharp, you’re better and faster at chopping. So, go out and buy yourself at the very least a great chefs knife. You can find a high quality one for around $100. Maybe that is a little expensive, but it is something you will be able to use for a long time if you learn how to properly care for and sharpen it.
This is a great knife that will stay sharp and last a long time. Cheaper knives will can be great at first, but they will have worse quality control and lose the edge faster.
Quality Frying Pans
If there is something I wish I would have invested in sooner it is good frying pans. In the past 4 years I have pretty much only had 1 pan at a time that was nonstick, and I used for everything. I probably paid about $40 for it at Home Goods and then would have to replace it at least once a year because the coating would come off. I visited my mom for dinner one night and commented on how she has been using the same pans since I was a kid. She made the comment that it was because she invested in high quality pans that would last a long time. It was then I realized that in 4 years I had spent around $160 on replacing my pans when I could have just spent that money up front on something high quality that would last me 20+ years. After a lot of research, I finally decided Pampered Chef Nonstick Stainless-Steel Pans. However, they were still a bit out of my price range, so I actually became a Pampered Chef consultant in order to earn rewards towards them.
Why I like them? They’re dishwasher, oven, and stove safe. They also clean easily, food never sticks to them, and best of all the quality of my food has improved because of how evenly the pan heats through. Going back, I would buy these pans all over again.

Dutch Oven
This versatile pot can be used on the stove, in the oven, on a smoker, even over a campfire! I think what I love so much about this is all the one pot meals I’m able to create. Minimal dishes are always a good thing. In fact, living in an apartment the less stuff I have the better. I love starting my dishes on the stove and finishing the off in the oven. It’s one of those things I didn’t know I needed until I had it, and now I make almost everything in it. You can find many different options online with varying prices
