Better Crunchwrap
If you didn’t live off of Taco Bell in college, did you really even go to college? Thinking back to when calories meant nothing and spending $4.25 on dinner was a splurge, one menu item reigned supreme. Crunchwrap Supreme that is.
Now that we’re old, being obsessed with Taco Bell isn’t cool anymore. But we know that the lingering desire to indulge in that flavorful, crunchy, delectable creation still sneaks up on you from time to time.
Never fear, this recipe is here to give you your fix, while steering clear of a drive-thru line filled with college stoners. In our opinion this is even better than the original because we were able to fancify the ingredients. Best of all, it’s super easy to make.
Ingredients:
- Ground beef
- Salt
- Pepper
- Taco seasoning
- Large flour tortillas
- Tostada
- Shredded lettuce
- Refried beans
- Sour cream
- Shredded cheddar cheese
- Cilantro
- Salsa
- Olive oil
Begin by seasoning your ground beef with salt, pepper, and taco seasoning. Brown one side of the ground beef with some oil in a pan on medium high heat, then break up with a spoon and turn the heat down until cooked through.
To assemble your Cruchwrap:
Start with a large flour tortilla; in the middle sprinkle on cheddar cheese, then ground beef. Spread refried beans on one side of the tostada and place face down on top of ground beef. Spread sour cream on other side of tostada.
Layer on cilantro, salsa, lettuce, and more cheese. Make folds one at a time around the outside of the tortilla.
Lightly spray frying pan with olive oil and put on medium heat. Place wrap face down and cook until sealed. About 3 minutes. Flip and cook other side until slightly browned.
Enjoy with your favorite hot sauce. We recommend Diablo.
